| Joseph Keels Elementary Students Win Contest! |

During Joseph Keels Elementary School's annual Career Day, Soar Publishing and the Ms. Angela Lane, sponsored a contest featuring her latest book, author of Mommy, There's a Giraffe In My Room.
Elaine Smith of Soar Publishing facilitated mini workshops throughout the day to introduce the elementary students to the world of publishing. The students were also introduced to Jerry the Giraffe and his best friend Tessie.
Contest Goal: To increase interest in reading, writing and illustrating.
Contest Details and Rules:
Jerry Giraffe Needs You! Jerry and Tessie usually go on vacation together but this year Tessie is being punished for writing on her bedroom wall so Jerry needs your help, he needs someone to take him on a spring break adventure! Write a short story about Jerry's and your imaginary trip. You may take Jerry anywhere in the world, he loves to travel!
With over 50 entries, two students were awarded prizes for Outstanding Illustration and Outstanding Literature. Prizes were awarded to Yinka and Courtney during the school's Monday morning broadcast.which was aired live throughout the school.

Yinka's Story:
While Tessie was being punished for writing on her bedroom wall, Jerry just sat around being more bored than ever. He received a letter saying, "Dear Jerry, You are invited to my party in Hawaii! Plane tickets are in the envelope. See you soon!" Sincerely, Your cousin, Jonnah.
"I'm going to Hawaii! Jerry went to the airport, boarded his plane and was ready to take off! But before they could do anything, they had to go through the procedures. The procedures were to be respectful, responsible, safe and prepared. After they went over the plane procedures, we were on our way! "I'm here," said Jerry. After the party was over, he said that he had a great time with me and would like to get together again! I said, "Me Too!"

| Hat's off to a wonderful entrepreneurial school! We at Soar would like to take this opportunity thank the principal, Mrs. and her staff at Joseph Keel's Elementary for their hard work. We are committed to helping our community's schools and hope we can be of service to other school's and organization in the near future.
